The contract comprises land preparation, laying the foundation and building the structural framework. Skanska said it will be responsible for the concrete and steel elements. The facade is not included in the contrast but broadening a two-kilometre stretch of the 162 highway from two to four lanes is.
The new terminal will replace a post facility in central Oslo that processes about three million items of mail each day. Skanska said preparation begins at the end of the year and construction will start in spring 2007. The facility is due for completion before the end of 2008.
Skanska Norway reported sales last year of about SEK 10.5 bn (EUR 1.1 bn) and employs 4,300 people.
