German asset manager KanAm Grund Group has appointed Thomas Völker as the new head of financing and treasury, as of 1 May.
Völker joins from Munich Hypothekenbank where he managed the firm's commercial finance business as head of commercial real estate - international clients.
The trained banker and business economist previously worked for Landesbank Hessen-Thüringen (Helaba) as senior vice president for commercial real estate financing in Continental and Northern Europe and for Aareal Bank in Wiesbaden as an authorised signatory, across its real estate lending business in the UK.
At KanAm, Völker's responsibilities will cover both institutional activities and its fund business for private investors.
In 2019, KanAm Grund Group's institutional business accounted for around 75% of its over 50 individual transactions in Germany and Europe, reaching a volume of more than €2 bn.
Its new funds included the 'focus on Northern Germany' vehicles for institutional investors from the banking sector. Meanwhile, the KanAm Grund German development fund started on six projects in 2019.
