Alpine looks for expansion in eastern Europe

Alpine Mayreder, Austria's second real estate company controlled by the Spanish FCC, intends to seek further expansion into the eastern Europe property market, Alpine's president Dietmar Aluta-Oltyan said during an interview with the 'Salzburger Nachrichten'.

Alpine Mayreder, Austria's second real estate company controlled by the Spanish FCC, intends to seek further expansion into the eastern Europe property market, Alpine's president Dietmar Aluta-Oltyan said during an interview with the 'Salzburger Nachrichten'.

The group forecasts a turnover of EUR 2.01 bn for the full year 2006, stated Aluta-Oltyan, who owns 20% of the company. He said that the growth of Alpine's portfolio would interest 'countries that have just entered, are to enter and candidates to enter in the European Union.'

Alpine was founded in 1965 by the Pappas family and it is mainly active in Germany, and in Eastern and Southern Europe. It is active in Poland, Romania, the Baltic States, the Czech Republic and Croatia, and has further projects in China and Turkey.
