AC Niellsen launches Dublin office

Niche advisory firm AC Niellsen has launched a Dublin office in response to increased demand for cross-border transactions across the UK, the Netherlands and Ireland.

The new office will be headed by Paul McDowell, a European investment specialist, who joins the business as an equity director. McDowell was previously a principal at independent consultancy, Paul McDowell, providing strategic investment and asset management advice to clients throughout Europe.

Prior to this, he was managing director of Knight Frank Ireland, where he led an active investment team handling transactions across Ireland, the UK and Continental Europe.

AC Niellsen was launched in 2011 by Ernst ter Meulen and Simon Hartnell, with a focus on transactions, finance and fund structuring, advising clients throughout Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and The Americas.

Commenting on the launch of AC Niellsen Ireland, Paul McDowell said: ‘There are clear synergies between the Dublin, London and Amsterdam markets and the team’s collective experience and access to capital will give us a unique competitive advantage. Having collaborated with them closely over the past couple of years, I have long admired Simon and Ernst’s approach to business and look forward to being an integrated part of the team.’

With a background in transactions across the office, retail, hotel and strategic land sectors, AC Niellsen has also established itself as one of Europe’s leading advisors on data centres, having delivered over 350 data centres.
