Willhem acquires student flats in Sweden
Date: 29 November 2011
Category: Deal
Swedish property investor Willhem has acquired two buildings with student apartments for EUR 15 mln. The vendor of the properties in Halmstad was Swedish private property firm Fragerus Fastigheter.

The two properties comprise 288 student apartments.

International real estate advisor Savills advised Fragerus Fastigheter in the transaction. Leif Johansson, in Savills' Gothenburg team, said: 'These assets are both well located with one of them in close proximity to Halmstad University. The sale is a sign of a strengthening residential real estate market in Sweden.'

Willhem was established by Sweden's first national pension fund late last year. Its inaugural transaction was the acquisition of a 860,000 m2 predominately residential portfolio for EUR 765 mln. This was one of the largest real estate deals in Sweden during 2010.
