UBS Real Estate's Centro Leoni office complex in Milan has been awarded a LEED Silver certificate in the category of new developments. The Munich-based real estate fund management arm of UBS said this is the first LEED certificate to be ever awarded to an office building in the country.

The scheme, which is owned by the open-ended UBS (D) Eurinvest Immobilien fund, was completed in 2006 and consists of two identical office towers offering 52,000 m2 of total lettable area and an underground car park with 650 car parking spaces.

Centro Leoni is UBS' second real estate project in Italy.

Launched in 1999, UBS (D) Eurinvest Immobilien fund owns 55 properties across Europe with a value of roughly EUR 2 bn.
