CEE real estate developer TriGranit has received the green light to begin construction on its EUR 160 mln development project in Poznan, Poland. The groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for the end of September, the company said in a statement.

Phase I of the Poznań Glówny project involving the construction of the 5,500-m2 railway station is due for completion in May 2012, in time for the European Football Championships. The entire scheme, including a 60,000-m2 shopping centre, will be finished in the second half of 2013. The mall, including a total of 230 shops, will be known as Poznań Główny City Center.

Trigranit was picked by the Polish state railway group PKP less than three years ago to revitalise and renew Poznań's main railway station. PKP will contribute four hectares of land in the downtown of the city for the project, while TriGranit will secure financing and development the scheme as agreed with the city of Poznan.

Bose International, in cooperation with the local Poznań architectural firm Pentagram Architects, designed the project.
