The French public management entity for the development of La Défense Seine Arche, Epadesa, said on Tuesday that it has agreed a sale to Societe Generale's life insurance arm Sogecap of an additional 43,400 m2 of development rights as part of the D2 Tower development project in the Parisian business district. The financial details were not disclosed.

The agreement includes a clause whereby Epadesa will receive additional compensation in case the leasing of the space will exceed targets, the state agency said.

The 37-storey D2 tower will be built on the existing 10,600 m2 Bureau Veritas building and will thus offer a total of 54,000 m2 of office space in the Reflets district of Courbevoie. The development of the new scheme, including demolition of the existing building, will be carried out by Sogeprom and Bouygues Immobilier.

Designed by architects Anthony Béchu and Tom Sheehan, the 180-metre high scheme will boast High-Quality Environmental (HQE) certification and is planned for delivery in mid-2014.
