The City of Cologne has selected a partnership of Austria's Strabag Real Estate and Germany's ECE Projektmanagement to develop the MesseCity project on a 54,000-m2 site between the Messe-Deutz railway station and the south entrance of the Cologne fair.

The two business partners are planning to develop office space, a hotel, catering and services facilities on the site while a shopping centre is not planned, they said in a joint statement last week.

Further details about the project will be unveiled in the next weeks.
