UK regeneration specialist St Modwen has submitted an outline planning application for the latest phase of its Etruria Valley development in Stoke-on-Trent in the UK.

The application is for the development of the next 16 acres of the Etruria Valley Business Park, which forms part of the wider Festival Park area - the former Shelton Iron and Steel Works. The area is being developed by Stoke-on-Trent Regeneration, St Modwen's joint venture company with Stoke-on-Trent City Council. The company is seeking approval to build a mix of office, manufacturing and storage properties.

Launched in 1988, Etruria Valley has seen the development of over 1.35 million sq ft (125,000 m2) of office and commercial development, retail and leisure pars, four-star hotel, restaurants and housing.

Phase 2 of Etruria Valley commenced in 2008 following demolition of the former Rolling Mill. A major 93,500 sq ft Contact Centre for Vodafone UK was designed and constructed by St Modwen in 2009 as well as a new factory for Wade Ceramics and head office for Hanley Economic Building Society.

'Discussions are already progressing with major potential occupiers,' said Mike Herbert, regional director for St Modwen.
