Skanska has secured a construction contract for the redevelopment of a mixed-use property in Stockholm. The contract value is SEK 750 mln (EUR 82 mln), the company said.

The contract for Sveavägen 44 is a partnership agreement with the customer Diligentia and encompasses an area of 54,000 m2 of office and retail space. The project represents an extension of a contract signed in 2009 and reconstruction work on the property has already commenced. The scheme aims to achieve 'Excellent' rating under BREEAM environmental standard.

Separately, Skanska announced it has achieved a 'Gold' pre-certificate under LEED environmentally-sustainable standard for its Green Horizon office complex in Lodz, Poland. The scheme will comprise two buildings with a total leasable area of 33,000 m2. Construction of the first phase of the project began in the second quarter of 2011 with completion planned for the fourth quarter of 2012.
