Date: 4 April 2011
Category: Retail
ECE Projektmanagement has completed the project to extend the Altmarkt-Galerie shopping centre in the German city of Dresden. The extension work has added around 18,000 m2 of sales area to the former Intecta building, creating a new three-storey mall, with around 100 stores, cafés, restaurants and service businesses.

The EUR 165 mln project also included the construction of more than 3,300 m2 of office space and an Etap hotel with more than 200 rooms, which will start operation in July.

In total, Altmarkt-Galerie now provides more than 200 shops on approximately 44,000 m2 of retail space. The scheme, developed and managed by ECE, was first opened in 2002 and currently represents a joint venture of ECE, Deutsche EuroShop, and TLG Immobilien.

Separately, ECE said it has completed the redevelopment of the former Huma Einkaufspark into the Rheinpark shopping centre. The mall, comprising 140 shops over a sales area of 37,300 m2, involved an investment of EUR 93 mln over two and a half years of construction works

Union Investment is the owner of the scheme, which is managed by ECE.
