Redevco begins refurbishment in Glasgow

International private real estate company Redevco has begun the refurbishment of the 8,400 m2 George House office building in George Square, Glasgow.

The first phase of the refit will deliver 4,600 m2 of space and will be completes next February. The remainder is to be completed by June 2012.

Redevco is aiming for an Excellent rating under BREEAM standard for the work.

David Smith, investment director, of Redevco said: 'With little or no development activity currently under way, particularly in the prime central core, we believe that we will be bringing the new space to the market at a time when there will be limited competition.'

DTZ has been appointed as letting agent.
