Wietse de Vries joins Almazara as partner

Wietse de Vries has joined Dutch advisory group Almazara per September 1, 2011. Almazara, which advises pension funds, insurers and other institutional investors on their investments in real estate and infrastructure, was recently founded by Bas van den IJssel, a former director of Mn Services and Bouwinvest.

De Vries has been active in the field of investment management since 1995, both for private as well as for institutional investors. Since 2005 he has specialised in the field of institutional investment management in the real estate and infrastructure sectors.

Wietse was director Business Development with Grontmij Capital Consultants from 2009-2011, and as such advised pension funds on their global real estate and infrastructure portfolios. From 2005 to 2009 he was managing director with ING Real Estate Investment Management, where he headed the Institutional Clients team. He subsequently was fund manager of the ING European Healthcare Fund.
