Portico signs up Euronics for Hungarian retail park projects

CEE real estate investor and developer Portico Investments has secured Euronics as tenant for two retail units in its Budaörs and Budakalász retail park developments in Hungary. Euronics Vöröskő Kft, the local unit of the electronic giant, has agreed to take 4,300 m2 of retail space in the properties, representing the international retailer's first stores to open under this new brand concept in the country.

In a statement on Thursday, Portico said tha the stores are planned to open in August 2011. 'We expect this dominant and innovative market player in the electronics sector will boldly offer and deliver customers the variety, quality, pricing and service standards so long awaited in the Hungarian market,' said Portico's managing director and head of Asset Management, Kevin Craighead.

With offices in Budapest, Warsaw and Cluj, Portico Investments has over 260,000 m2 of assets under management in Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary and Romania.
