New European CMBS research platform launched
Date: 1 November 2011

Goldstar Research, a new web platform that provides analysis of European CMBS transactions, has been launched in a bid to improve transparency and liquidity in the sector.

'The CMBS market is inherently difficult to analyse and we expect that this [platform] will help restore confidence in the sector, bring in more investors and improve liquidity,' commented David Fiske, head of business development at Goldstar Research.

The company has developed a suite of products including quarterly deal reports with interim updates to be published on Goldstar's blog, and a free CMBS portal through which market participants can access market research and transaction data.

The company has the backing of industry veterans Scott Goedken of rating agency DBRS and Royal Bank of Scotland's Krishna Prasad, both non-executive directors.

Godeken, a long time CMBS investor and former chief investment officer for LNR Partners Europe, said: 'It is impossible for most investors with sizeable portfolios to keep track of everything that is going on with every loan and every property underlying the CMBS they own.'
