European outlet centre operator Neinver has announced the opening of the Futura Park shopping scheme in Krakow, Poland's second-largest city. The centre, which welcomed a total of 28,000 visitors on its first day of trading, consists of a retail park and a factory outlet centre, with a total GLA of 44,000 m2 including 140 shops and more than 1,200 parking spaces.

Futura Park was the first project in Poland to obtain the BREEAM certification for sustainable buildings.

'This project is a benchmark for Polish retail properties and reinforces Neinver's position as the country's leading operator,' said Bárbara Topolska, general manager of Neinver Poland.

It is the fourth outlet centre to be operated by Neinver in Poland, adding to Factory Warsaw Ursus, Factory Wroclaw and Factory Poznan.

Neinver manages a total of 13 outlet centres with 265,000 m2 of GLA in five European markets (Spain, Poland, Germany, Portugal and Italy). It is the second-largest European operator of outlet centres, in terms of square metres under management. The group plans to develop 160,000 m2 of retail outlet space over the next three years.
