Outlet centre specialist McArthurGlen has opened a 7,200 m2 extension at its Designer Outlet Roermond in the Netherlands. Based on the annual number of shoppers the Roermond asset is now the largest outlet centre in northern and western Europe, the company said.

With the largest local catchment area of any of McArthruGlen's 20 designer outlets across Europe, and being close to main routes in and out of the region, McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Roermond draws in 3.8 million shoppers per year.

Comprising 35,200 m2 of gross leasable area (GLA), Designer Outlet Roermond is now double the size compared to when it first opened 10 years ago.

The centre now offers 150 stores. Anchoring this new phase will be the new Burberry flagship store, which will be triple the size of Burberry's previous store in McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Roermond.

The 35 new brands at the centre include premium brands Moncler, Calvin Klein Collection, Navyboot, Baldinini and Abro.
