Date: 17 November 2011
Category: Retail
Unibail-Rodamco's Docks 76 scheme has become the first shopping centre in France to achieve a 'Very Good' environmental performance reference under the BREEAM in Use assessment for existing buildings.

The shopping centre located in the city of Rouen was certified 'Very Good' by the environmental performance reference for 'BREEAM in Use'.

The 80-shop scheme opened in April 2009. At the time it was the first shopping centre in Europe to be certified by BREEAM Europe Retail. It was awarded a 'Good' construction certificate.

François Cantin, Unibail-Rodamco director in charge of sustainable development, said: 'This latest award for Docks 76 reaffirms Unibail-Rodamco's desire for the systematic certification of its shopping centres across Europe by BREEAM in Use. We are currently pursuing the same level of certification for three other major shopping centres situated in France, Sweden and Spain which should be accomplished by the end of this year.'
