French insurer makes first major 'green' property buy

French insurance firm Mutuelle d’Assurances du Corps de Santé Français (MACSF) has agreed to buy the Via Verde office development in the Terrasses district of Nanterre, France, from the development arm of BNP Paribas Real Estate for an undisclosed amount.

The complex offers 15,000 m2 of office accommodation designed by architects Wilmotte & Associés. It features HQE and BBC environmentally sustainable certificates and is majority pre-let to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Paris and to La Défense Seine Arche public management body, which have taken a 60% of space. Delivery is scheduled for April 2012.

This is the first acquisition of a major 'green' asset by Group MACSF.

The buyer was advised by Jones Lang LaSalle, BNP Paribas Real Estate Transaction acted for the seller.
