Category: Development
Lend Lease and London & Continental Railways (LCR) have unveiled details of a 371,000 m2 development in Stratford City at the MIPIM property trade fair in Cannes. The project, named The International Quarter, will be led by offices and complemented by some retail accommodation, 350 new homes, 1.2 hectares of civic and open space, hotels and childcare facilities. The project is expected to create in excess of 15,000 jobs.

'The International Quarter builds on our existing work at Stratford City with the Athletes Village and Chobham Academy showcasing our capability in integrated real estate delivery. These developments will collectively leave a lasting positive legacy for East London and beyond,' said Dan Labbad, Chief Executive Officer of Lend Lease EMEA.

The district will comprise the largest urban shopping centre in Europe, Westfield Stratford City, which is set to open in September 2011.

Site works will commence in early 2013 with the first occupancy proposed for late 2014.
