Klépierre opens Aqua Portimão mall in Portugal

Paris-listed real estate company Klépierre has opened the Aqua Portimão shopping centre in the Algarve region of Portugal. The shopping centre covers a total floor area of 47,250 m2 spread over three levels and featuring a shopping gallery of 35,500 m2.

The retail offering includes a Jumbo hypermarket, owned by the Auchan group, and 117 stores, nine mid-sized units and 21 restaurants. Parking is provided in a three-level underground area with 1,800 slots.

Designed by architectural firm Sua Kay, Aqua Portimão opens for business on Thursday after two years of work. The shopping centre is 50/50 owned by Klépierre and an institutional investor partner.

The lease-up and management of the facility have been entrusted to Ségécé, a subsidiary of Klépierre. The shopping centre opened with an occupancy rate of 94%.
