Spanish hotel chain Sol Meliá has announced the sale-and-leaseback of the Lebreros hotel in Seville, southern Spain. The 437-room property was sold to BBVA Renting for over EUR 49 mln. The hotel operator has also agreed to lease back the asset for a period of 12 years.

The transaction is the latest sale-and-leaseback operation in Spain after Mercedes Benz' sale last month of its headquarters in Northern Madrid to the real estate arm of Spanish insurance group Mapfre.

Also in Spain, US developer Hines has announced that it has sold one building in its Tripark business complex in Las Rozas, Madrid, to German real estate fund RREEF for around EUR 28 mln. The scheme, designed by architects Allende Arquitectos, offers nearly 11,000 m2 of office space over four floors and is leased to the French distribution group Día.
