Category: Development
Goodman Group has signed a contract with Amazon, one of the world's leading online e-commerce providers, to develop an 110,000-m2 logistics centre in Rheinberg, near Duisburg in Germany. Amazon plans to create up to 1,000 long term jobs in Rheinberg.

The new Rheinberg development builds on Goodman’s existing relationship with Amazon and is the fifth such facility to be developed on behalf of Amazon in Europe.

The logistics centre will provide approximately 110,000 m2 of storage space and office space. The construction work will commence in early March.

Andreas Fleischer, Goodman Country Manager Germany said: 'We have worked together successfully with Amazon for many years, and this is currently one of the largest real estate developments being undertaken in Europe.'

The total amount of warehouse space now under development by Goodman in Germany is 233,500 m2, corresponding to an investment value of EUR 135 mln.
