Date: 2 November 2011
Category: Logistics
Global property developer Goodman Group has signed an agreement with Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles for a new built-to-suit production facility in Hanover.

The supply centre will have an area of 45,000 m2 and will incorporate supply for the production of the Amarok, one of Volkswagen's commercial vehicles. Volkswagen will use 30,000 m2 of the new space as storage.

For the project, Goodman has acquired a total area of 83,000 m2 in the 'Schwarze Heide' commercial area of Hanover, near Volkswagen's commercial vehicle production facility. Construction of the new facility commenced in early September, and the first unit of 10,000 m2 will be handed over at the start of January 2012.

Goodman has included a number of sustainable features in the development, and will seek a certification rating from the German society for sustainable construction (DGNB).
