Goodman opens first warehouse at Kraków Airport
Date: 28 June 2011
Category: Logistics
Goodman Group has opened its first warehouse at Kraków Airport Logistics Centre, with two tenants in place and a third set to move in next week. When construction began on the 14,000-m2 warehouse in October 2010, it was Goodman’s first speculative development in Central Europe in 18 months.

SCOT, a Kraków-based company specialising in printing equipment supplies, was the first customer to sign up for the centre, leasing 3,500 m2 of warehouse space and 508 m2 of office space. In January, Goodman secured a lease for 3,500 m2 of warehouse space and 366 m2 of office space with Eurodruk-Kraków, a printing company specialising in the production of books, magazines and advertising materials. A further 3,500 m2 of warehouse space and 350 m2 of office space was leased in February to Farutex, a food distributor for the HoReCa sector.

'Our customers sought a location with well-developed infrastructure, where they could conduct operations in state-of-the-art facilities tailored to suit their needs,' said Błażej Ciesielczak, Country Manager of Goodman Poland. 'We are confident that Kraków Airport Logistics Centre will live up to all of their expectations and that the expansion will attract a growing number of satisfied customers. In May, we commenced the construction of the second of nine warehouses at the centre.'

The logistics centre will comprise nine warehouses with additional office space, staff and technical areas. When fully operational, it is expected that up to 1,000 people will be employed by customers, making it the largest logistics centre in Małopolska province. Goodman commenced operations in Poland in 2005 and owns and manages over 100,000 m2 of facilities in various locations in Poland for customers such as Whirlpool and DHL.
