Date: 4 July 2011
Category: Logistics
Goodman Group is to develop a 25,547 m2 turnkey warehouse and distribution centre at Puurs, Belgium for Duvel Moortgat, an independent producer of speciality beers.

The development will comprise a 21,329 m2 state-of-the-art warehouse, 3,840 m2 mezzanine and 378 m2 of offices and social rooms. The new facility will provide space for Duvel Moortgat to grow its in-house logistics activities, with the new warehouse to be located four kilometres from the Duvel brewery. Construction will start this month and the handover is scheduled for December 2011.

'The turnkey development for Duvel represents the first phase of development at Puurs Logistics Centre and will enhance the profile of the site,' said Kim Cornille, Goodman's country manager for Belgium.

This transaction brings the total amount of warehouse space currently under construction by Goodman across Continental Europe to 458,500 m2.

Following the handover of the warehouse and distribution centre to Duvel, Goodman will retain 31,887 m2 of land available for development at Puurs. The site at Puurs is owned jointly by Goodman Group and the Goodman European Logistics Fund (GELF).

Goodman and Duvel Moortgat were advised by Savills in the transaction.
