Category: Development
French star architect Jean Nouvel has unveiled plans for the redevelopment of the Parisian suburb of Boulogne-Billancourt which includes five towers measuring up to 120 metres in height.

The project, which forms part of the redevelopment of the former industrial site of carmaker Renault, is set to be put to the vote along with the city's new urban planning strategy during a municipal council meeting on Thursday. Nouvel, who has been responsible for coordinating the development of the area since 2008, plans to develop four office towers as well as a skyscraper housing a hotel.

The masterplan represents one of the largest city-centre regeneration projects in Paris.

The Renault industrial facilities on the Ile Seguin closed down in 1992 and were demolished in 2005. The deputy Mayor of Boulogne-Billancourt, Pierre-Christophe Baguet appointed Nouvel to redesign the area in 2008.
