The Swedish Order of Freemasons has acquired the Strand hotel building in Stockholm for SEK 600 mln (EUR 67 mln). Property adviser Tenzing, which acted for the vendor Home Properties, said the price for the 6,341-m2 building, originally known as Mons Bock 6, came to about EUR 10,500 per square metre, a record level for a commercial property in the Swedish capital.

The hotel is leased by The Rezidor Hotel Group under the brand name Radisson Blu and has a total of 152 rooms.

The transaction brings ownership of the underlying building full circle as the Swedish Order of Freemasons built it for the Stockholm Olympics in 1912.
