ECE opens EUR 190m mall in Poland

German-based retail specialist ECE has announced the opening of a EUR 190 mln shopping complex in the Polish city of Szczecin.

Galeria Kaskada opens on Wednesday and boasts 140 shops and leisure facilities over three levels extending across 43,000 m2. The mall is owned by ECE's European Prime Shopping Centre fund and is 100% leased.

The new scheme is the sixth shopping centre to be developed in Poland by ECE.

The company was founded in 1965 by Werner Otto and is now managed by his son, Alexander. ECE has completed shopping centres and other properties with a total value of EUR 14 bn.
