Date: 8 February 2011
Category: Broker News
Global real estate consultant Cushman & Wakefield (C&W) has announced the launch of a new office in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, in a move aimed at strengthening the firm's presence in the Netherlands. C&W already has an office in Amsterdam.

Hylcke Okkinga, a partner in the firm since 2001, will head up the Rotterdam office. Michiel van den Bout has rejoined the team and will strengthen the logistics and industrial activity in close cooperation with the Capital Markets and Client Solutions teams.

During 2010, and before the new office was officially launched, C&W was increasingly active in Rotterdam and advised on transactions totalling 45,000 m2 of office space and 125,000 m2 of logistics space.

'Demand for our services in Rotterdam and the adjacent Brabant region has been increasing steadily over the past 12 months,' said Jan-Willem Bastijn, managing partner of C&W in the Netherlands. 'We anticipate further growth this year, particularly in the office and logistics sector and now, with our own C&W office up and running under the leadership of Hylcke Okkinga, we can continue to build this business and provide clients with the very best services available in the market.'
