Peel Group takes deputy chairman spot at CSC

London-listed Capital Shopping Centres Group has announced the appointment of John Whittaker, chairman of the Peel Group, as deputy chairman of CSC.

Whittaker's appointment was one of the conditions of the EUR 1.8 bn acquisition by CSC of the Trafford Centre mall in Manchester from Peel Group.

CSC has also issued 167 million new shares, valued at £1.45 bn (EUR 1.7 bn), and £154 mln in convertible bonds under the agreement. As a result Peel Group now holds a 23% stake in CSC.
