Colony Capital and Orion Capital Managers have announced that funds managed by them have acquired Goldman Sachs' portion of the approximately EUR 4.2 bn syndicated loan in Inmobiliaria Colonial.
Colony Capital and Orion Capital Managers have announced that funds managed by them have acquired Goldman Sachs' portion of the approximately EUR 4.2 bn syndicated loan in Inmobiliaria Colonial.
In a press release, the two companies said they are 'confident in the excellent quality of Colonial's real estate portfolios in Spain and France and in the strength of the group's management'. They added that they are also supportive of Colonial's restructuring process.
Colony Capital is a private, international investment firm focusing primarily on real estate-related assets, securities and operating companies. The company recently broke off talks with Orco Property Group, the troubled CEE investor and developer, on a EUR 80 mln capital injection.
Based in Los Angeles, Colony has invested more than $39 bn (EUR 26.2 bn) in over 8,800 assets through various corporate, portfolio and complex property transactions. The company also has additional offices in New York, Boston, Hawaii, Paris, London, Madrid, Rome, Beirut, Hong Kong, Beijing, Tokyo, Seoul and Taipei.
In Europe, Colony's investments include Accor, Carrefour, BUT, Data IV data centres, La Tour Hospital in Geneva and Chateau Lascombes. Colony's investment in Colonial shall be led by it funds Colony Investors VIII and Colyzeo Investors II.
Orion Capital Managers is a European real estate investment firm. The London-based company recently announced it had raised EUR 1.28 bn for its Orion European Real Estate Fund III, almost EUR 300 mln more than the original equity target set by the fund manager.
Orion's three funds I, II and III and core fund, Orion Income Return Partners, have a total of EUR 10 bn in investment capacity. Orion is wholly owned by its founding partners Aref Lahham, Van Stults and Bruce Bossom and has offices in London, Madrid, Milan and Paris.
