Global property adviser CBRE has appointed Helen Smith as director to its retail management team. The senior appointment comes in response to the growth of CBRE's retail management business.

The CBRE retail management team, led by Jane Wynne, manages close to 30 shopping centres, including Manchester Arndale and Cribbs Causeway in Bristol. In just 18 months the team has trebled in size and secured 12 new mandates in as many months.

With more than 20 years experience in retail management, Smith joins CBRE from Aberdeen Asset Management where she held the position of retail asset manager since 2007 and prior to that was property manager at Bluewater shopping centre.
