Real estate adviser DTZ plunged to ninth position in the PropertyEU annual ranking of leading real estate advisers in Europe for 2010 after seeing investment transaction volume fall 33% over the year to EUR 4.2 bn. It is the first time that the adviser has dropped out of the ranking of top five leading brokers in Europe since its launch in 2007.

Continental players Catella Property Group and BNP Paribas have meanwhile made further inroads into the traditional hegemony of the Anglo-Saxon brokers. Catella saw investment transaction volume surge 106% to EUR 6.2 bn in 2010, securing the Stockholm-listed company a shared fifth position together with King Sturge. Paris-based BNP Paribas also booked strong growth, with investment transaction volume up 77% year-on-year at EUR 4.6 bn.
