Bouygues Immobilier has opened its Orange les Vignes retail park in the town of Orange, around 30 km north of Avignon, in the south of France. The complex has a total surface of 32,000 m2, and features the largest photovoltaic facility in Europe, developed by Aerowatt.

'Orange les Vignes demonstrates the interest of the company in the architectural quality of the buildings and its commitment to sustainable development,' Bouygues said.

The scheme was marketed by Camae, and is currently leased to over 50 brands including Jardiland, Intermarché, C&A, Kiabi, CASA, Mac Dan, and Maxitoys. Designed by architects Outsign, the centre has a catchment area of around 100,000 people.

Bouygues said the park has a photovoltaic system integrated into its roof which generates 2,163 kW in power, making it Europe's largest energy-producing facility open to the public. The photovoltaic system was developed by Aérowatt Energies, which represent a 65-35 partnership of Aerowatt and French savings bank Caisse des Depots.
