BNP Paribas Real Estate Investment Management said that it has completed over EUR 562 mln worth of transactions in 2010 on behalf of its funds. The figure represents a 45% increase on the total transactional volume reported in 2009.

The French investment manager has closed acquisitions worth EUR 480 mln in the course of 2010, up 67% on 2009's purchases of EUR 287 mln. The lion's share of investment was made in the commercial property sector, with 34 assets being bought representing some EUR 442 mln of property. This includes the purchase in December of Copernic II from CBRE Investors, which brought last month's total acquisition volume to over EUR 200 mln.

A total of EUR 38 mln were invested in residential properties, representing a slight increase on 2009 volumes.

The company's sales activity has decreased by 19% in 2010 with EUR 82 mln of assets being sold, compared to EUR 101 mln in 2009.

'BNP Paribas REIM has significantly increased its acquisition and sale volumes in 2010, despite the still fragile investment market - especially in the first half of the year. This strong activity illustrates the capacity of the fund manager's team to pursue growth,' said Jacqueline Faisant, president of BNP Paribas REIM France.
