Befimmo wins 'Most Improved' Award in EPRA/Deloitte Annual Report Survey
Date: 1 September 2011
Category: EPRA
Belgian real estate company Befimmo has won the award for 'Most Improved Annual Report' as measured by compliance with the European Public Real Estate Association's Best Practices Recommendations (BPR).

Befimmo was among nine European listed property firms receiving the highest Gold position in the EPRA/Deloitte Annual Report Survey Awards presented at the industry body’s annual conference in London on Thursday.

Philip Charls, chief executive of EPRA said: he hoped Befimmo's example would inspire many others as they review their annual reports for compliance with EPRA's guidelines. 'We are very pleased with the increasing uptake of our BPR which is now the industry standard for key performance indicators (KPIs) in the European market. Listed property companies have really demonstrated leadership through producing high quality, transparent and comparable reports and we are confident that these efforts will have a real impact in attracting more investment into the sector.'

Some 63% of companies surveyed, representing 76% by market capitalisation of the FTSE EPRA/NAREIT Developed Europe indices now adopt the BPR (at least one EPRA Performance Measure).

The annual reports of the 83 members of the FTSE/EPRA Developed Europe Index were reviewed by a team of experts from the Deloitte real estate practice, including teams from Belgium, France, Germany and the Netherlands, led by Claire Faulkner, UK head of real estate. They were judged and awarded a score based on compliance with the BPR.
