Axa RE appoints Matthias Leube to head German office

Axa Real Estate has appointed Matthias Leube as the company's local head for Germany and the regional head of property services group.

As regional head of property services, Leube is now responsible for all acquisitions, disposals, asset management and development activity in Germany. As local head of Germany , Leube will ensure the successful implementation of client and product strategies, as well as support the development and growth of the business. He also becomes a member of Axa Real Estate’s executive committee.

Matthias has 18 years of pan-European experience in strategic portfolio management. He joins Axa after seven years at Deutsche Bank, where he was managing director responsible for its real estate portfolio across EMEA. Between 1992 and 2003 he worked at Jones Lang LaSalle, latterly as a European director. Matthias holds an Economics and Real Estate degree from the European Business School and is a qualified Chartered Surveyor.

Germany is AXA Real Estate’s third biggest market, with a portfolio of properties totalling EUR 5.4 bn, representing more than 13% of its total assets. This includes properties across the office, retail, industrial and residential sectors.
