Category: Retail
Auxideico, the Spanish shopping centre manager owned by Germany's ECE, has been picked by owner Union Investment Real Estate to manage the Área Sur shopping center in Jerez de la Frontera near Cádiz in southern Spain.

Inaugurated in November 2007, the mall hosts 105 shops on a leasable area of over 48,000 m2.

'After the recent award of the Modoo shopping centre in Oviedo, this represents the second new project of this magnitude for Auxideico,' said Carlos Pestaña, chief operating officer of Auxideico.

Founded in 1994, Auxideico was bought by Hamburg-based ECE in July last year from ING Real Estate Development (ING RED). Auxideico currently manages 590,000 m2 of shopping space in total, spread over 16 trading centres.
