Italian REIT Beni Stabili has acquired Auchan's Italian headquarters in Assago Milanofiori, near Milan in a EUR 63 mln sale-and-leaseback transaction with the French retail group.

Beni Stabili - Italy's largest listed property company by market capitalisation - has also secured a new lease agreement with Auchan which will continue to occupy the 31,000-m2 office building on a 13-year contract. The property also offers roughly 700 parking spaces.

CB Richard Ellis managed the sale on behalf of Auchan and Simmons & Simmons provided legal assistance to the French retailer.

At end-December, Beni Stabili acquired the head office of the Italian pension fund Inps for an investment of EUR 21 mln.
