European real estate investment manager AEW Europe has appointed Schalk Visser as managing director and head of investor relations. In this role he will develop and coordinate all the group's fundraising activities across Europe and handle contacts with existing and potential clients.

Schalk will be based in London and report to AEW Europe’s chief executive Christian Delaire.

Schalk has 16 years of experience in managing institutional relationships and joins AEW Europe from CBRE Investors where he has worked as a senior director since 2008, responsible for raising investment capital from institutional investors across Continental Europe and the UK.

At CBRE Investors, he raised EUR 3 bn for a number of global and pan-European real estate investments vehicles and separate accounts across the whole risk/return spectrum.
