Real estate investment manager AEW Europe has appointed Sam Martin as research director within its research and strategy team based in London. He will report to Mahdi Mokrane, head of research and strategy for AEW Europe.

Martin's responsibilities include advising the investment and asset management teams on macro-economic and property market dynamics, contributing to the investment strategy formation and performing primary and secondary property market analysis.

Martin joins from Bloomsbury Capital where he was vice president of real estate. Prior to this he was head of strategic and financial consulting and head of research for Russia and CIS at DTZ, based in Moscow. He is a member of the Investment Property Forum and chartered surveyor (MRICS) with an MSc in real estate investment from Cass Business School in London.
